Introduction

Debtdirect.com is a trading name of Tatstar Limited which is a company registered in England and Wales, Registered No. 05961595.

Tatstar holds a consumer credit licence enabling it to offer debt counselling, in other words we can provide you with information about the options open to you.  We cannot provide you with any advice or administer a debt solution for you. 

If an enquiry form is completed we will introduce you to a commercial debt adviser who will then contact you with a view to arranging an appropriate solution.  Commercial debt advisers make a charge for administering or arranging a debt solution but full details will always be given to you before you enter into a plan.

What information do we collect? We only collect information that has been provided by you i.e by filling out the application form. We do not extract any information that your computer may be holding.

Use and storage of your personal information

We do not store your data it is passed onto a third party debt management expert. They may provide you with information, including by email and mobile telephone, about their and other companies’ products and services that may be of interest to you. Where they use your personal information to tell you about other products and services they will give you the opportunity to inform them that you do not wish your details to be used in this way. The debt companies would like to pass your details on to other carefully selected companies so that they can send you information, including by email, SMS and mobile telephone, about their products and services. When you complete the enquiry form you will be asked if you wish to receive information in this way.  If you do not, you will have the ability to select the option advising us of your choice.

From time to time we may inform you of products or services which you may be interested in. You have the right to opt-out at any time. We may also contact you for feedback to improve our service. 

We do not undertake credit searches with licensed credit reference agencies such as Equifax and Experian until you make a formal application, and only then will the credit search be carried out with your permission.

A number of other people's web sites have links on our site. If you link to their sites, they may ask for your personal information. Such sites are not within our control and are not covered by this privacy statement.

Choose Tools, then Internet Options Click the Security tab Click on Custom Level Scroll down to the sixth option to see how cookies are handled by IE5 and change to Accept, Disable, or Prompt for action as appropriate.

If you're using Internet Explorer 4.0:

Choose View, then Internet Options Click the Advanced tab Scroll down to the yellow exclamation icon under Security and choose one of the three options to regulate your use of cookies. If you're using Internet Explorer 3.0: You can View, Options, Advanced, then click on the button that says Warn before Accepting Cookies.

If you're using Netscape Communicator 4.0:

Access to your personal information

You have the right to request a copy of the personal information that debtdirect.com holds about you and to have any inaccuracies corrected. (We charge £10 for information requests.) Please address requests to info@debtdirect.com

Debt Direct

Some solutions, such as a Debt Management Plan or an Individual Voluntary Arrangement involve costs when the plan is set up.  These costs are there to cover the expenses and work undertaken on your behalf.  You will always be told clearly about any costs upfront.  Other solutions, such as a Debt Relief Order or Bankruptcy incur costs which are payable to the Court.
